A motor's HP rating tells you how much power it can deliver, not how much fodder a machine can actually cut. That comes down to the whole system — blade design, feed-tray mechanism, and how efficiently the motor's power is converted into cutting work. Two machines with identical motor ratings can have meaningfully different real-world capacities, and the reverse is just as true: it's entirely possible for a well-designed 2HP machine to match or outcut a poorly-matched 3HP one.

A larger motor matters once you genuinely need higher throughput than a 2HP machine can provide — a very large herd, or a gaushala processing fodder in bulk.
